Lee Williams Bio

Lee Williams has over 17 years experience coaching basketball, if you add his playing days at Hardin Simmons University and at the University of Texas - El Paso you get over 2 decades worth of basketball knowledge. Coach Williams is the former head boys basketball coach at Horizon High School in El Paso Texas where he was named the schools first ever head coach in 2004. His teams became competitive almost immediately. After suffering through the growing pains of an inaugural season with no seniors and only one junior, he quickly had Horizon in playoff contention in the program's 2nd year. Coach Williams teams became known for their defense first mentality and sound fundamentals. While at Horizon, Coach Williams coached countless all-district players as well as 3 El Paso Times All City Selections. In 2010, his coaching career took a back seat to support, care taker and financier for his grandmother Ruby Elaine Brown.

In 2011, Lee Williams founded the Fusion basketball organization and set out to change the culture in the El Paso and New Mexico area. Since founding Team Fusion, he has had over 96 percent of players go on to play at the collegiate level with one playing both volleyball and basketball. The success of competing regionally and nationally has opened eyes and garnered a partnership with Adidas in 2014.
